I had a factory 2.01 psp for christmas last year, let my brother play on it he upgrades to 2.6 . I hear you can downgrade them now though. Anyway, i just wanted to know how safe it is to downgrade 2.6 and if theres any point, or any other way i could play homebrew. P.S i live in uk so its eu psp if that makes a difference.

1. Downgrade your 2.60 using either the TIFF downgrader (risky), or Dark_AleX's Generic Downgrader. I wouldn't recommend downgrading, as 2.60 has nearly the same homebrew capabilities as 1.50.
2. Install 2.71 SE-B" custom firmware on your PSP. This is basically a modified version of 2.71, but allows homebrew from the XMB (main menu) to be launched.
Here's a download of the custom firmware, with all of the files you'll need. (Sorry about the QJ link.) Download 2.71 SE-B FULL |
