PSP + Universal IR Media Remote + Xbox 360

Hey, I have enjoyed using the PSP Infrared Remote program for a while now. I then thought that I'd try it out on my 360. So I went to WWW.LIRC.org and got the Xbox 360 codes, put them in and went to my Xbox.

I tried it, didn't work.

I am curious to see if this is really as perfect as it can be. I wonder this because we have 1 Sharp branded TV. The EXACT remote number is in the list, but when I try using it, it wont work, not 1 thing. Not power, channel, volume, nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thx in advance,
KillerHurdz.

How far away are you from the reciever? The IR on the PSP isn't very strong.

First off, if you are on one of the custom firmwares, make sure that you IR homebrew is in whatever your 1.5 folder is. If that doesn't work, try an app called iRCommander (This is the same one that iRShell uses, if you have that). It has worked perfectly on my friend's 360 everytime. Plus, I think iRCommander and/or iRShell come with the same codes that I use for the 360, so you don't have to go looking on the web.

I am also going to agree with Jarrod. Make sure you are close to the Xbox or what ever other gadgets you want to control. The IR range is only a few feet for the psp. Also, it only has a maximum angle of 15 degrees or there abouts, so you need to be roughly in front too. You can't have the fun I had with my universal remote and bouncing the signal off of anything with glass. Glass is very reflective in the IR range of the light spectrum....hehe...I got a few students to belive the classroom was hunted....

Hopefully he'll learn not to try and push quite possibly unconstitutional bills though the state assembly and then waste tax money fighting it in court. Plus, he has failed the bar exam 4 times . Disclaimer: These are my opinions, and I am wholy responsible for them.

Hey, does IRShell work on 3.03 OE-B? Or do I NEED 2.71 SE-C or 1.5?

Half of iRShell works. The latest version has been split into to parts, one for 1.5, and the other for 2.71. On my psp, the 1.5 part works perfectly as long as it is in the 1.5 folder. The 2.71 part doesn't seem to, but I know that Ahman is working on a new version 3.03 OE-B.
