check in the umd-tray near the open catch if you see "IC1003" then you have a TA-082 if not its easier
to start upgrade to 2.71 sony firmware once installed :-
TA-082 method -- download the Dark_Alex's TA-082 D'grader (
Document sans nom) and the 1.50 eboot copy the TA d'grader to you memstick in the game folder (see readme) and rename the 1.50 eboot.pbp to update.pbp and copy to the psp\game\UPDATE and install hen-d, from a cold reboot (full power off and on) and at least 75% power plus charger plugged in, start hen-d and run idstorage change once complete, run the generic downgrader (see end)
Non TA-082 -- grab the normal 2.71 generic downgrader and hen-c\d install hen-c\d and copy the generic d'grader to the game folder giving you update folder again copy the 1.50 eboot named update.pbp to the update folder, from a cold reboot (full power off and on) and at least 75% power plus charger plugged in, run the hen-c\d followed by the generic downgrader. (see end)
End once the downgrader has been started leave it it a position where the psp wont be knocked\nudged and do not do anything to the psp untill it is completed (it reboots\ asks you to reboot manually) if you follow carefully you should have a 1.50 if you void the path you may have a brick, good luck
p.s. this is not for the noobs around take care and read all readme's at least twice for safety and as always "use at your own risk"
p.p.s once at 1.50 you can use the 3.02OE-a +b update to use ps1 games etc
