This was something i've got to ask, as it seems that all the home brew that is made is either X-flash or a custom firmware, very few people make actual applications (or indeed plugins) for the psp and i've wondered what's going on? are the games getting wiped out by the emulators? everyone switchind to ISOs or something? what does everyone else think?

and since only a few people know how to code, less games are coming. |

The homebrew may not be pouring in as it used to, but the scene is still very strong. I guess that right now, there is so much security and so many new challenges in the newer firmwares now that most of the focus is on them.
The buzz you get from defeating firmware security for the first ever time, or contributing to the effort, is truly immense. The hacking/cracking side of things is flourishing right now. Soon enough, we should have homebrew on all firmwares. Then, the focus will be back on homebrew. |

| | | yeah, the homebrew 'scene' will return, just gotta give it the time mate...
in saying that
Sony keep UPDATING damn firmware, so more security = more emphasis on the updates = less homebrew. ghay |

Hacking the firmware is going strong because Sony keeps on providing new material to hack. Video is ruled by PMPlayer, and that's hard to top, iRshell is almost unbeatable, and X-Flash wins on customizing the XMB. Developing a homebrew game is really hard, even in Lua. So unless there is some 'spark,' nothing new is coming.
