Points: 69.28 Donate | | | Backing up isos I am sure this has been discussed, but I can't find any new data about the best way to backup my ISOs. Everything I have found is about 2 years old almost now.
I tried several things today, but nothing worked. Does anyone have any links to newer tutorials on the best way to backup the ISO I own?
I think I need subhostfs.prx but I can't find it any were. Can someone send me the file or pm were to get it?
Also if I have a TA-8x IC-1103 MB and I used the DA down grader to downgrade thus changing the idstorage key in the process, will I need to repair it with that hack that came out a while back to use my USB to PC mount?

Points: 69.28 Donate | | no worries! Thanks for the reply. And the tip. I might try that. But what I would really like to do is get my PC and my psp talking to each other.
I did use Google to search the info out. And like I said I find 1 to 2 year old information. Most of it with dead links. :thumb down:
I am not trying to do anything illegal. I want legitimate backups of my UMDs. I have already seen what can happen to UMDs. A friend of my son wanted to borrow the Lord of Dogtown movie so he let me borrow SOCOM while he has my movie. I couldn't get the game to work for a week because the case was smashed against the disc and I didn't notice it. I have kids that will be using the stuff I am buying, so far 2 movies and 12 games. Not to mention the 3 working psp and the broken one I am about to buy. I want to be able to protect my investment is all.
Anyway. I found a nice psp to PC tutorial in a torrent last night, but I can't get the psp to communicate with the PC. I really just need help now with specific information about the idstorage keys and the best way to check them for correctness. I think I might have that issue I remember read8ing about some where but can't remember where. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I think I got it all sorted out now. I just finished flashing to 303 OE-C and things seem to work better?
Plus I found out that with USB SSS I can mount my UMD to my PC and then copy the file right over to my PC! That is totally awesome!!
So I guess my idstorage key is ok. And I guess I already found the answers I was looking for. Sorry for the errrmmm ... yea that the ticket!

Oh, and FYI, even playing ISO's from your own UMD's is illegal in the US. Not sure about other countries. |

f0: in recovery is sweet though, I thought I bricked my psp yesterday after whacking on the software. It was booting to no video. But recovery still worked so I mounted f0: and "flashed" the back-up I had made earlier back to f0: so all was right in pspland again. I was then able to boor my psp up without issue. That is a big plus for OE-C!!!

I honestly don't see the point of haveing an iso of a game you own, but I am always trying to conserve hard drive space. I only have a 30 GB hard drive so yeah. Thanks for being cheap when you bought my computer dad. |

I have way too much storage so I love backing up stuff. Some day I should have my terabyte media storage server online. Plus I should eventually get my Media PC up and running (Damn MythTV and Ubuntu) then things will be fun at my house.
Do you need another drive? I have a bunch of extras. I extend the offer to you only since I like your Avatar icon!

Thanks for being cheap when you bought my computer dad. | That's so ridiculous, you can back up your pc games and software and DVDs but not your UMD games... as far as I'm concerned I bought the game I should be able to do whatever I want with it. If I want to buy a game, walk out of the store, throw it on the ground and stomp it into a million pieces I will...
The reason why I like using iso's is that they run faster and I can have a bunch of my games with me without carrying a case of UMDs around.
