Nope, you can jump directly to OE-C. And if the R button gets jammed down, there shouldn't be a problem, if you want to get into recovery. But if you can't get it up at all, you're gonna boot into recovery and gonna have to exit straight away, which would be annoying.

hay ppls i hav a psp and am having sum difucilties i recently upgraded to 3.03 oe a and all wos good working and running then i downloaded a program called psp spot and wen i ran it my psp got stufet wen i turn it on it says the sony computer entertainment thing then it goes to a red screen that says a serious erro has occured and i haf 2 turn it off 2 do anyhitng i figured out how to run homebrew tho u go 2 recovery mode enable usb and put the eboot of the homebrew i wanna play in psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp and that worx i can play all my homebrew so i wos just wondering i sum1 cood com up wif an upgrader or sumthing that wood delete all my stuufed up falsh memory and replace it wif a new firmware or sumthing so i coould actually use mt psp properly agen , thanx

i have 3.03 OE-C but i need help getting emulators on it, ive tried all sorts, can someone please help me, i was realy looking foward to this, i had 1.5 before then i came to this but now i just have nothing at all. And if no one can help me can someone just tell me how to go back to 1.5.

jet, are you saying your homebrew isnt working? Go into recovery mode, go to configuration(?), and change 3.03 kernel to 1.5 . Hope that helps!
