What you CAN do with the XMB in 3.10 OE

OK, a lot of people are asking if they can customise their XMBs on 3.10 OE, so i decided to make this post telling people what they can and cannot customise (and also how for some - gonna edit in)

-Coldboot Sound - YES
-Coldboot Waves - YES (May break P.O.P.S.)
-Debranded Coldboot - YES
-Monthly backgrounds - YES
-Font - YES (May break P.O.P.S.)
-XMB Waves - YES
-Topmenu Icons - NO
-Gamemenu Icons - YES
-Savedatamenu Icons - Yes
-Gameboot - YES
-Debranded Gameboot - YES


Credits for the following info goes to bstronga and his guide over at maxconsole

Debranded Gameboot
1) Get a decripted firmware 3.10 opening_plugin.rco.
2) Open the opening_plugin.rco with a hex editor and go to offset -> 0x3A14
3) Replace 7D with "55"
4) Save the opening_plugin.rco and flash it to the /vsh/resource/ folder

Debranded Coldboot
1) Get a decripted firmware 3.10 opening_plugin.rco.
2) Open the opening_plugin.rco with a hex editor and go to offset -> 0x31AC
3) Replace 9A with "55"
4) Save the opening_plugin.rco and flash it to the /vsh/resource/ folder

Custom Gamemenu Icons
1) Download the Custom Icon Packager from my attachment, extract then open the folder.(Files are those from the Custom XMB Icon Packager
2) Create 2 64 x 64 px BMP image, 256 colors, 8 bit with a solid black background. Save as loading.bmp and corrupt.bmp.
3) Run the game.bat file to create loading.dat and corrupt.dat.
4) Get a decripted firmware 1.00 bogus game_plugin.rco.
5) Open the game_plugin.rco with a hex editor and find the following 2 offsets:
- Loading Icon: 0x813C
- Corrupted Icon: 0xB744
6) Open your converted DAT files with the hex editor and copy the content over the above offsets in the game_plugin.rco.
7) Find the following 3 offsets:
- Loading Icon Shadow: 0x31CC
- Corrupted Icon Shadow: 0x322C
- Corrupted Icon Glow: 0x3240
8) Replace the hex values here with 00 until you reach a 00 (See Picture)
9) Save the game_plugin.rco and flash it to the /vsh/resource/ folder.

Custom Coldboot Sound
1) Get a decripted firmware 3.10 opening_plugin.rco.
2) Open the opening_plugin.rco with a hex editor and find the offsets
- Left Channel:0x3B58
- Right Channel:0x1C568
3) Open your .vag file
4) Copy the content over the above offsets in the opening_plugin.rco.
5) Save the opening_plugin.rco and flash it to the /vsh/resource/ folder

Custom Savedatamenu Icons
1) Download the Custom Icon Packager from my attachment, extract then open the folder.(Files are those from the Custom XMB Icon Packager
2) Create 2 64 x 64 px BMP image, 256 colors, 8 bit with a solid black background. Save as loading.bmp and corrupt.bmp.
3) Run the game.bat file to create loading.dat and corrupt.dat.
4) Get a decripted firmware 2.50 savedata_plugin.rco.
5) Open the savedata_plugin.rco with a hex editor and find the following 2 offsets:
- Loading Icon: 0x129AC
- Corrupted Icon: 0x16A14
6) Open your converted DAT files with the hex editor and copy the content over the above offsets in the savedata_plugin.rco.
7) Find the following 4 offsets:
- Loading Icon Glow: 0x12C74 (Hex code-C6 F6 6E)
- Loading Icon Shadow: 0x13A68 (Hex code-78 DA ED)
- Corrupted Icon Shadow: 0x170B0 (Hex code-29 E2 7F)
- Corrupted Icon Glow: 0x17B58 (Hex code-78 DA ED)
8) When you get to each offset, if the hex code matches what i have put, replace with 00 00 00. If the hex code does not match then skip to the next offset.
9) Save the savedata_plugin.rco and flash it to the /vsh/resource/ folder.

As far as I know, you cant change the TOP Level of icons (as in the settings, music, games etc etc) in 3.10. Believe me I tried and it bricked my PSP.

Word of advice always keep the 310eoflasher EBOOT and DATA.DAXR files in your recovery folder and you can piss around with your PSP until your hearts content knowing full well that you can boot to recovery menu and start again!

They really need to come out with a new X-Flash or something that does all of this. I looked at Flash Agent, but it was to confusing and I don't want to brick my psp.

oh, my mistake. didn't notice we was talking about 3.10...
