My Mood: | | | | | Downgrade & Install 3.03 OE-C Woes Hello everyone.
I used the 3.03 downgrader today with the GTA-LCS exploit and everything went fine. My firmware reported 1.5 HEN like it was supposed to. However, when I installed the custom firmware (3.03 OE-C) it bricked my PSP.
I followed the instructions to the letter - I'm no stranger to hacking the PSP, so I ruled out the 'noob mistake' possibility. Once I got to the point in the custom firmware where it says it's turning off and I need to restart it manually, it turns off. So, naturally I manually restart it. Nothing. The memstick light blinks a couple times like it normally does, the power led comes on, and the screen backlighting kicks in. No sound, no video, no BIOS at all. The power remains on until (and here's the crazy thing), I hold the R-Trigger and hold the 'Power' switch for about 5 seconds. *EDIT - It will not turn off after 30-60 seconds, or if I hold the Power button up the way it would normally turn off). I of course discovered this entirely on accident the 3rd or 4th time I was holding the opposing trigger buttons trying to pull the recovery screen up.
Any suggestions how I can revive my (hopefully) semi-bricked PSP?
My other PSP is a 1.5 FW that I bought a week after launch, and I've had absolutely no trouble with it, even though I use it (more or less) for homebrew. This PSP that bricked was also an original launch unit (I bought it 2 weeks after launch for $100 from a friend), but I initially bought it to keep the FW updated. It sucks, but I can live with one bricked PSP. |

If it is completely bricked, I think the only solution is a mod chip. I hope some one else knows a solution. |

My Mood: | | | | Well...
I was modding someone else's PSP and I figured out the problem.
Apparently, after you run the flash builder, if there's an error it will report it on the screen, but it closes in 10 seconds. I went out for a smoke and just assumed everything went well and flashed a corrupted version to my psp. Sucks, but it happens.
I managed to get yet another PSP for $100 and got everything working OK. My advice to anyone else who may have the SHA-1 error - flash that and you'll brick.
Thanks for your help anyways, 2 psp's means it's a good idea to have a 3rd for parts and what not. |

That is the reason D_A releases the md5, sha, sha256 and crc use either and if it dont match remake it (format memstick first or error check)
