You guys have pretty much cracked the firmware issue but the bricked psp issue has never been solved so that people can recover them.
So here's the scenario (ok so I do have an alterior motive to repair my psp but...)...
My PSP (not ta-82) displays the XMB but its in chinese or something rather than English. You can step through the options and judging by the icons this is a version 2.0 firmware. UMDs previews and music start when the UMD icons is displayed... HOWEVER...
Try to open sub menus and the PSP freezes. Try to launch any downgraders / devhook / UMDs etc and the boot screen freezes white with "psp" logo shown. I guess the XMB / bootstrap (if that's the correct term is corrupt)
So heres the challenge.!
Can something be writtern that can be placed on a MS so as soon as it is hilighted in PHOTO menu launches either a downgrader or upgrade to restore the XMB without going through the bootstrap? FOR SEMI BRICK AND PARTIAL CORRUPTION.
Alternatively, can some software be coded for the PC that switches on the USB (when XMB cannot) prevents the psp switching off and runs either and upgrade or downgrade? FULLY BRICKED
If no interest, any help on my particular corrupt problem would be appreciated. I've tried dark-alex downgrader 2.5 / 2.6 and 2.71 without success, whilst these auto start when the icon is displayed they still freeze at the bootstrap.
It seems remarkable that these PSP cannot be flashed remotely, there has to be a way???. A challenge indeed. | wilhel1812 pretty much summed it up, try dark alex's custom firmware. The recovery menu can run a recovery pbp file from the memory stick and can also load usb support in case you forgot to place the recovery pbp in the stick.
I have this and the platinum bios ;-) |
