I'm looking for someone to essentially help me get back into the scene. I want to install a custom firmware, and I also have multiple questions about using the custom firmware. My PSP is currently a 1.5, after being downgraded from 2.6 a while back.
If you are experienced, and know a lot about custom firmware and are willing to take some time out of your day to help me out, I would be extremely grateful. I have AIM, which could make conversing much faster and more efficient.
So please, let me know if you'd like to help me out one on one.

If you want custom XMB icons, which is a bit pointless if you ask me, then get 3.03 OE-C, and if you don't care, good for you, so go to 3.10 OE-A and then to OE-A'.
You can run ISO's from the game menu, and play your own converted PSX game rips on both, though the emulator is better on 3.10. |

I have a couple questions. Is a USB ISO-loading feature available in any way? Am I not allowed to talk about ISO's at all? I've seen a couple people get yelled at for it.
Also, what format does the homebrew need to be in?
I found a tutorial at maxconsole written by a member named 'evolve' through a quick google search. It shows me where to get everything necessary. However, is there any other tutorial you would recommend? I'm not a member, so I can't use his links. Also, how do I go from OE-A to OE-A'?
Thanks. |

Homebrew can be in any format you like. Kxploited or non-kxploited.
Any homebrew you run can run on an OE firmware. You can have homebrew for later kernels like 2.71 by putting the in the GAME310 folder instead of GAME. You can set the GAME folder to rn under the 1.50 or 3.10 kernel, too. If you're running it in 310, put your 1.50 homebrew in GAME150.
Here's a good installation tutorial: MaxConsole Forums - [Tutorial] Updating to 3.10 OE-A
Here's a good recovery menu tutorial (you will need this): ~ 3.10 OE-A Recovery Menu Guide ~ - PSP™ General - PlayStation.com Forums
Other than that, just post here if you find a dead end and can't work out what to do. |

That is the tutorial I was talking about, and I just downloaded the files.
I don't know where to get OE-A' however. Could you help me out there?
*edit* nevermind, I noticed the second link you gave me had a link to it.
Thanks so much. | |
