Hiya all, i not been on my psp or this forum for about a year... Seems like alot of stuff happened while i been away.
Kk, first thing first, i have a 2.60 PSP and would like to get down to 1.5 if possible.
I've been told u can upgrade into 2.8 - 3.03 and then go back down.
Any help would be ace, many thanks.

Points: 330.31 Donate | | I can help. But first of all, welcome back! Loads and loads has been happening. To spoil the surprise, I'll list some major breakthroughs - - New firmwares -
- 2.70
- 2.71
- 2.80
- 2.81
- 2.82
- 3.00
- 3.01
- 3.02
- 3.03
- 3.10
- 3.11
- 3.30 (no, I haven't missed one out here; Sony just jumped from 3.11 to 3.30)
- 3.40
- Real custom firmware; including ones based on new firmwares, granting free PS1 emulation and (check forum rules) ISO usage from the XMB!
- Devhook 0.52.0100 - emulates (I think) up to 3.11, if not beyond!
- Tons of new homebrew
- The following firmwares are downgradable -
- 2.01 (non-GTA)
- 2.01/2.50/2.60 (using GTA LCS)
- 2.71 (non-GTA)
- 2.80 (non-GTA)
- 3.03(with GTA)
Phew. That's a lot I missed, and a lot I got... I think someone else needs to fill him in more.
Anyway, I suggest upgrading to 2.71 and downgrading. Downgrading is safe, and if you need help, contact me via PM, as I have a guide you can follow that I'm not releasing to the public yet (needs testers, already succesfully tested twice and unsuccessfully zero (if anyone else needs/wants to test, contact me)).

Well there have been tonns of customization breakthroughs. Lets see, the wave, xmb icons, xmb size/position, font and probally more, can be customized.
Not sure if you've seen before, but a mod-chip has been released.

Points: 60.86 Donate | | Once you downgrade to 1.50, upgrade to custom Dark_AleX firmware (Which gives you 3.40, but has homebrew capabilities)

Points: 1.31 Donate | | | I'd reccomend either 3.03 OE-C if you want alot of customization (XMB icons, cool wavy lines, nice busy circle, custom battery icon, etc.), or 3.40 OE-A if you want the latest OE firmware. I'd also reccomend the SCEP-XMB OE plugin, because it rocks.

Can someone just give me a GUIDE step by step on how to get onto a firmware version that supports most things, ps1 aswell if possible, from 2.6 start

Points: 60.86 Donate | | Firstly, download a downgrader from Dark_AleX's site, here. Since the 2.50/2.60 downgrader requires GTA:LCS, you may need to upgrade then use the appropriate downgrader.
Download the 3.40 oe-a easy installer, here; It will give you firmware 3.40 oe-a, which enables you to use homebrew and illegal materials + the latest Sony firmware features.
From there, search for all the homebrew you could possibly imagine here.
