Hello!

I'm new to this whole custom firmware thing and I really want to put DarkAleX's custom firmware on my PSP to play homebrew games and games from the many web-based sources out there, if you get what I mean...

I bought my PSP in Europe and it currently has Sony Firmware v.3.10. What do I need to do to put DarkAleX's firmware on it?

I read somewhere that you need a TA-082 motherboard in your PSP, is that true? I don't think my PSP has one inbuilt...

Can I still play legal PSP UMD games on my PSP if I put a custom firmware on it? How big, in megabytes, are illegal full-version games to download from trusty web sources? I have only got a 256mb Memory Stick but it hasn't got anything on it...

Please include links to necessary downloads and a step-by-step instruction manual.

To get Dark_AleX firmware, you need to downgrade to 1.50; The highest downgrader available is for 3.03, not 3.10. Trust me, you will brick your psp if you try to use the 3.03 downgrader on a 3.10.

I am a member that dominantly posts the member/homepage news, so you can check up on use regularly, and you will be one of the first to know when the dowgrader for 3.10 or above is released.

The team that creates downgraders and such, is a team called noobz. You can access their website here.

Just as a warning, there is no talk on illegal game talk (ISO/CSO) allowed on PSP3D; you may get banned if you do so repeatedly.

It's cool man, you weren't implying illegal material, it's just that so many people nowadays who are new to the PSP3D world think it's ok; I just wanted to save you from getting into future trouble.

If you want to try and get a PSP that is downgradable you can check out my thread I posted a while ago. The link is in my sig. It tells which PSPs are downgradable as of now.

i have firmware version 2.81 and only want to downgrade to 1.50 to play 1 certain game that came out way before i was born, is there a downgrader anywhere?
