And yes, you must downgrade, but first, upgrade to 2.71. To do this - Getting from 2.70 or below to 2.71- Download this file. Do not rename it.
- Connect your PSP to PC, using either a USB cable or a MS Pro Duo adapter. If you use USB, remember to activate USB mode on your PSP.
- Navigate to the folder \PSP\GAME in your PSP's window on your PC.
- If there is no folder called UPDATE, create one.
- Go inside this folder. Delete anything that is inside.
- Copy the file you downloaded into this folder.
- Once that's done, unplug your PSP or put the MS back into the PSP.
- Navigate to Game - Memory Stick on your PSP's menu, and start the 2.71 updater app.
- Once that's done, you will be on 2.71 and ready to downgrade to 1.50, which will allow you to upgrade to a custom firmware.

To downgrade to 1.50 from 2.71? Check your PM inbox, but please do not share the file I give you with anyone else, please instead direct them to me so I can give them a copy. The file is a noob-friendly guide for upgrading to 2.71, but I don't think I will be releasing it to the public until I get 2 more testers to make sure there aren't any details I missed. So far, 3 people have successfully downgraded, and nobody has failed to downgrade using my guide. If you tell me of any mistakes or missed details I will be very grateful!

He's a great guy, contributes loads the the community, and has written some great guides. He helps people out a lot too, and guess how many posts he has? Just under 400. Just because people have a lower amount of posts on these forums doesn't mean they don't have a right to give an opinion and/or help people out with whatever knowledge they have. |
