I thought that 1.50 is the best fw for everything (the things that are forbidden to talk bout) but very often i read threads, where ppl advise to install custom fw. Can any1 pls learn me more about differencies, +es and -es?

Dark_AleX custom firmware allows you to have all the features of 3.40 + the ability to run homebrew, modify the apperance of the XMB and play illegally backed-up games. A simple way of saying it is that it combines 1.50 and 3.40 together and there is no catch whatsoever.
