ISOs of varyings sizes

I went searching for ISOs online... and found that certain games have varying sizes of ISO some as much as double the size of others... why would that be ?

Also, what are the differences between UMDGEN and UMDDUMP ?

Sorry if you misunderstood... my question is of a technical nature, and not abotu anything illegal.

I'm not talking about illegal ISOs... in fact, I am not being specific at all about what ISO I am talking about,.. I just asked for a TECHNICAL reason for why two ISOs for the same application/game/backup might be of different sizes...

i.e. does dumping with different utilities can cause sizes to vary?

if so, why ?

also, why such a huge discrepency in sizes... ?

you see, my questions are all technical, and are not about how to steal games. =P

Size varies most of the time because the file may have been ripped (removing movie clips, music, extras, etc...) to make a smaller file size.

Sorry ISO talk, illegal or not, is not allowed at all on this site. Read the rules when you sign up. There is also a link to them in my signature.

Yeah sorry to be such a dick about it, but you could get banned for talking about them, it's in the rules, and we do not want to see you get banned so shortly after joining. By the way, welcome to PSP3d!

your first post states "I went searching for ISOs online... " which indicates your going looking on the net for iso's to download which is illegal iso usage.
