QUERY: non-PSP USB cables & memory sticks

Am just wondering. I got a Samsung memory stick called "MMCmicro". Am wondering whether this is compatible with PSP? Also, I got a USB cable from my old Sony MiniDisc Walkman which has USB one end, and the smaller plug at the other end. Will this work for PSP? Has anyone tried using a non-PSP memory stick & non-PSP USB cable and they were working?

PSPs only take Memory Stick Duos and Memory Stick Pro Duos - they don't have to be PSP branded, nor do they even have to be Sony branded, but they must be one of the two types I mentioned. So MMCmicros won't work.

The cable will work if the 'smaller plug' fits into the USB Mini port on the top of the PSP. If you don't have a PSP, check it against the left one in this photo:

So, all in all, no, you couldn't use your current configuration with a PSP.
