This is what you do to install it, with a firmware. The guide assumes you're running a custom firmware with the 1.50 kernel (all except 3.71 M33 without the 1.5 kernel plugin are fine) - - Extract the contents of the archive to the root of your MS.
- Put the update of the firmware you want to emulate in the root of the MS as well, under the name EBOOT.PBP. (Only up to 3.11 is supported.)
- Restart the PSP, and turn it on again while holding R. Select the option to run the app in /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP. Follow the onscreen instructions.
- Note - the only reason this step exists is becasue some custom firmwares have problems with the display of the firmware install app, and so it cannot be started through the normal menu.
- Once that's done, reboot your PSP normally. Run the Devhook launcher app.
- Set the settings. (all you need to change is the FIRMWARE and UMD SELECT options.)
- Press START, and press O to close the small menu that appears over the top.
- ???
- Profit!!!
All except the last two ( ), that's what you need to do. I'll make a new download with instructions for 1.50 firmware (that's what your sig says you're on).
EDIT: Instructions for 1.5. Here's the file to download. - Extract the contents of the archive to the root of your MS.
- Put the update of the firmware you want to emulate in the root of the MS as well, under the name EBOOT.PBP. (Only up to 3.11 is supported.)
- Restart the PSP, run the Devhook Firmware Installer app. Follow the onscreen instructions.
- Once that's done, reboot your PSP. Run the Devhook launcher app.
- Set the settings. (all you need to change is the FIRMWARE and (possibly) UMD SELECT options.)
- Press START, and press O to close the small menu that appears over the top.
