Points: 36.65 Donate | | | Problem upgrading to official 3.80 Firmware from 3.52 M33-4 I need to upgrade my PSP to the latest official Firmware as I want to use it for remote play on my PS3 (2.10 PS3 Firmware checks the Firmware of the PSP and if its not official then it wont work!!!). My PSP is running 3.52 M33-4 and I have downloaded the latest 3.80 Firmware but when I run it I get an error saying "The Game Could Not Be Started (DADADADA)" I have tried it on my other PSP that is running 3.40 OA and that does the same thing. Anybody got any ideas what I can do? Is there anyway of doing a complete format that will remove the 3.53 M33-4 Firmware?
Cheers,

Points: 2.09 Donate | | | that error is in incorporated into those custom firmwares by dark alex to prevent accidental upgrading to $sony firmwares. you can revert to Official f/w by using the tools in the recovery menu, namely changing the 3.8 update to (i cant remember; check ur readme) and then launching it through the recovery menu
PM dorkdork777 or spongefreak for more detailed instructions. the can help you more than i.....

Doubleposted Message Below:
Sorted it. Going into the recovery menu I can see that to go back to a previous firmware you need an EBOOT in psp\games\recovery, but for some reason it does not work with the new 3.8 or a 3.2 so i ended up using a f/w 2.0 that I had from ages ago and then upgrading that to the latest 3.8.
I realize that I have just said goodbye to Homebrew on this PSP but you cant beat using remote play to switch on my PS3 and watch any of the movies that I have on my PC that I am wirelessly streaming to my PS3 via TVersity!!! Its ACE!!
