QUERY: backup Pandora Memory Stick

I have a 3.71M33-4 + 1.50(2) PSP and just bought a spare Datel "pandora-compatible" battery . I just read we also need a spare Memory Stick too? I only have one memory Stick (Pro Duo) that I use to store all my emulators/PS games, etc.

Is it possible to do a Pandora's Battery using just one memory stick? Then after completion is it possible to back up the Pandora memory stick (image-wise) and then restore my emulator/PS games. Then whenever I need to downgrade using Pandora's Battery I can copy back the Pandora Memory Stick.

Is this possible?

a "pandorised" mem stick will work as a normal one. if you format it in the psp, it will go back to normal

But first remember to backup your memory stick first to the PC. Then format the memory stick in the PSP. Then run pandora. Then after you can put back everything on the memory stick.

Okay, if I lost my memory stick and bought a new one, can I just use that mpformat then copy folders kd, registry & files UPDATE.PBP, eeprom.bin, msipl.bin to the memory stick. And maybe run the msipl.bin flashing program, etc? So theoretically, one could recreate ANOTHER clone identical Pandora memory stick?

Please confirm with tested-and-tried scenario...

Sorry, but it sounds like you're missing a few important facts...
  • A 'Magic Memory Stick' can be used for Pandora and to store games/emulators at the same time - that's what my blue SanDisk one is doing at the moment.
  • If you use the UMPS installer, you can not only do everything from the PSP, you can also use a Pandora battery as a regular one.
  • I can't think of any reason why you'd want to copy the folders over by hand in the first place.

So basically... you can make your battery a Pandora, your MS a Magic MS, and just leave them like that, while still using your Magic MS to store games, etc, and using your Pandora as a regular one.

(The UMPS installer installs a different IPL to the normal one, one which only boots into the Pandora menu if you hold L while starting the PSP. This Pandora manu gives you access to Despertar Cementario v3, the original Pandora menu, and some files and ulilities. I'll write a tutorial... if/when I can be bothered.)
