Question Possible exploit on 2.81, ps1 emulator starts

Hi all
I know you all have seen a lot of "possible exploit" posts so don't be mad, one more wont hurt hehe.
So, what happened was...
I have had 2 psp one 1.5 and one 2.81, by mistake i inserted the memory card on the 281 and when i tried to execute the ps1 emulator its started.
No "corrupted" error message, it just starts, i get the "starting application psp logo" it reads from the memory card and then crashes.
So, if all programs for 1.50 get a corrupted message on higher firmware why does psx1 emulator starts? And most important could this be used for an exploit?

thanks for reading

Interesting. Even if there is an exploit 2.81 is old. There are other hacks for newer firmwares now. Not bad though

Question

but what if it runs on other firmware version? that could rule out the use of "save game" exploits if an exploit using the PlayStation one was possible.
its a long shot i know, i have no idea if it would have kernel access, i never coded any thing for the psp so i really don't know much about that.

Wait... By the 'PS1 emulator', do you mean a PS1 game made to work on a PSP, or an actual PS1 emulator, like PSX-P?

Easiest way to check - is the icon of this 'PS1 emulator' the icon of a game or does it say something like 'PSX-P' on it?

I have a PSP with 3.80 official firmware. I'll try it. Can you give me a link to download the program?
