question from a newbie: why downgrade? just crack the games ...?

hey i know i'm an absolutely newbie but why are all trying to develop a downgrader for the 2.5 firmware? why aren't you trying to crack the games that they run under every firmware? is this too complex and difficult???

im no expert myself but the reasoning behind the downgrading I believe is because newer firmware such as 2.5 and 2.0 have more protection against code it dosent know (homebrew) so I think downgrading just makes it easier to run homebrew (1.5)

In think probably if there was a way to run them "cracked" as you say it would have already been done.. but its not that easy im sure.. and it dosent help that not too many developers aer working on psp homebrew etc..

2.5 downgrader is pointless. Running games on 1.5 is where its at.

but when they develop a tool like an iso emu for the FW 2.5 we can use the specials on the FW 2.5, too.
i don't know if it's right, but i heard that when sony brings out the browser which supports java, it can be easier to run things like downgrading tools! is that right???

Let me explain why a downgrader...
if we allowed homebrew on 2.5 NO KERNEL ACCESS
downgrade to 1.5 KERNEL ACCESS

Question i agree

yes developers should try to see if its possible to "crack" the 2.5, but then again im sure its very unlikely you can do that. i would want to know if its possible for a modchip hmm. but if you downgrade the psp to 1.5 then you cant play most PSP games right? most of the games are for 2.5 correct?:confused

We can't burn UMD's, and that's a very important part in cracking, I believe. Also, just buying the game wouldn't kill you, you will actually help developers and will probably be doing something worthwhile... Is it too hard? If you're too poor to buy games, sell your PSP and buy food.
