PSP Battery issue. CFW Related or not?

Well, I've got a bit of a problem.

I recently got Custom firmare on my PSP. Got a new battery, got my old one from my PSP slip, converted it into a service battery and generally followed all the info from that "hackyourpsp" place, and got custom firmware up and running.

However, I've got a bit of a problem. y'see, I decided to keep the new battery as it is, since it's... well, new. I converted my old one into a service battery, but for some reason my PSP just doesn't like the new battery. One minute it'll be reading the charge level at full, then it'll tell me it's around 18% charge. I plug it into the AC to let it charge, but after about 5 minutes or so the LED switches off, thinking the damn thing is charged to 100%.

Now, my PSP has just randomly been switching off. I've got no idea if this is because the battery I got is just a dud, or if it has something to do with the custom firmware I put on. I'm not the best with all this homebrew stuff, but I've read that not doing something with your IDStorage before putting custom firmware on can cause weird stuff to happen with your PSP.

Any ideas?

I had this same problem. I then noticed a hump in the back of my PSP's battery. It's basically when you battery is leaking internally. You might wanna to check if your PSP's battery as a hump it shouldn't have.

I might have read this wrong so bear with me. You kept your battery as a Pandora / service battery correct? If so you need to convert it back to a regular battery or it will not work.
