2.01 (and 2.5) will be supported by the EBOOT Loader soon, via GTA. I don't have an exact definition of 'soon', because quite honestly working with GTA is a lot harder than expected. Progress continues to be made, it's just a lot slower than I would like. This info is all available already, if you search for it / read the work-in-progress page on
my website.
There's no point in pestering for updated info - when it's ready, you'll hear about it. Until then, what's the point in worrying about it?
From a dev's point of view, constant requests for info are a real pain. The dev's options are either to ignore the requests (not something I like to do), or waste time replying to them - time that could be better spent actually coding.
If you've emailed me recently, you'll see that I had to spend some time writing an email autoresponder to stop me from having to waste about 2-3 hours every day responding to huge numbers of requests for update info.
Most devs aren't hiding anything, they're just trying to avoid over-hyping before everything is ready. And think about it, what's the gain for the average user in knowing something like "the code is 60% done, might take a few more weeks to complete"? There's not much you can do with that info, except get excited and then get upset if it's not ready in a few weeks.
If there's relevant information that will help people - such as "don't upgrade to 2.6, because 2.5 / 2.01 support will be out sooner" then I'll make sure that info is publically available.
