YET ANOTHER IDEA....

hey i've come up with soooooooooooooo many ideas for hacking fw 2.01+, and gotton nowhere. Many Of my ideas have been debated about and improved, but to no avail.i will keep coming up with new ideas, and will probably never get anywhere.

here is my latest idea:
__________________________________________

i found that when you take an EBOOT apart in PBPunpacker, then re-build it with exactly the same files, the psp will reject it.

this probably would not work, but if we tried to find out what part of the coding has been lost, we could try and re-inject it. this would mean we know how to re-sign broken EBOOTs, and in time, sign new ones. i am no coder so i have no idea if it could work.

their is no code thats being lost.... its all in the encryption. when you open it up and repack it your not packing it back up with its encryption. so the psp rejects it.

that or thier is something in there that states when the file was made and that not to work if it wasnt made on a pasific date.

BUT when it is re-packed without the encryption, a small amount of characters in the coding of some files will have changed. why not find them (it would take a while) and change them?

I dont really know that much about the key, other then its different from FW to FW. The key prevents you from making custom FW.

we're not talking about making custom FW (yet)
and yes, but if we concentrated on one firmware at a time, finding differences in the code in each one, then changing them, we could fix the signing, WITHOUT ACTUALLY KNOWING THE KEY
