| | | hello, this is same as the post i made previously, people a focusinf on software for hacking the psp bios, but there is certainly a way to do that via hardware, it is mandatory for sony to have a backdoor for reflashing a bricked psp or simply for flashing them on the production line !! i cannot believe that they first flash the chip on a special device and then solder it, it wouldn't have sens on a production line. If you look closer on the motherboard there are several test points. if we had a motherboard that could be sacrified perhaps we could see where they are going ?
one of my thought is perhaps they effectively use the usb for that but with file with special names or something like that.
i suppose that on the first run the processor is idle/searchnig for some code or executing a boot strap code wich wait for something incoming on a serial/usb/jtag/spi like in any modern processor in order to start to write the flash, when this is done, a reset is made an the psp is ready.
so if we can identify this mecanism and how to reproduce him...they are dead! in many processor this bootstrap mode is invoked by closing some external switches to put some pins in dedicated states, by the way if you look at the mainboard again there are several place where components or pads are not soldered...why ?
this was my 0,3euros thoughts... |

| | | Well, thks for all welcoming message , for the hacking direct thing, they must be a way to connect to the epprom straight, coz how sony itself can update their epprom, i think they must have left a way to do it, we must check maybe the serial port, coz sounds like the usb is too obvious, where is that serial port by the way, coz i don't see anything on my all new psp. | |
