| | | | Not to burst your bubble or anything, but...
If you were online with your PSP using your home network and you used an online port scanner, all the portscanner found were the open ports on your router... not your PSP.
Remember, on your wireless network, your router is acessing the internet, not your PSP directly. When it scans your IP, the scanner is "talking" to the router, not your PSP.
You would get the same results if you went to the same page using another PC on your network.
Unless I'm missing something, this is probably what happened. |

And another thing: Just because you can get remote access to a system, doesn't mean you have complete control over it. In fact, 99% of any form of remote access doesn't allow you complete control over a system.
Furthermore: An open port is no indication whatsoever of the PSP acting as a server for Remote Access of any kind.
On a final note: If the PSP had a resident Remote Access Server running, it would have been found by now, since dumping the memory of the PSP isn't exactly new.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not the negative type, and I believe anything can be done and no system is perfect. The chances of hacking ANY firmware on the PSP are pretty high, it's just a matter of time. And the PSP has been hacked a LOT for the little time it has been around.
It's just that finding a way to remote access the PSP through the network seems a little too obvious and far fetched, but I'm not bashing you, every angle should be looked at. |
