Points: 2.67 Donate | | Is this possible? dont Flame Plz, Just a thought... I was in the shower the other day and was thinking about this. This would not be for the normal user, more for PSP3D...
1. would it be possible to take the UMD loader off of the PSP and somehow hook it to a CPU and run the UMD's VIA a CPU?
2. If this is, could you write a program to view the code of the game?
3. Could you use the code in the game as an opener for homebrew to bypass Sony's encryption? Like say take the opening for GTA, and get all the way to the load game part and than load a homebrew game from memory stick? OR something to the effect?
It is just a thought, and not sure if it would work but that something I was thinking about. Thanks! |

Unreal, actually the UMD disks are smaller than mini-disks. My mom has a dvd-camcorder, and i thought they were the same but no dice.
anyone have any suggestions about my original idea...let me know...thanks... |

Points: 2.67 Donate | | | but isnt there an encryption code on the UMD's that lets it play on the PSP? could you take the boot up of a game and then code a homebrew game after the boot up to pass encryption? runnning from a memory card of course...
I know what I am thinking maybe I am not wording it right...
*ADDED*
YEAH the "boot sector" of the UMD...if we could pull that off of the umd and use it as a save and code homebrew after the boot up...it would have the encryption already in it and it should work no? |

id be willing to (try) writing a driver if someone could provide details on the specs of a UMD disc, as in all the info |

BTW: Who the hell is going to buy another PSP just so they can tear out the UMD drive from it to hook it up to the PC, and it's not even like there's a PSP emulator for the PC so it's completely useless outside of the idea that you can somehow exploit games. Which is already being done with GTA:LCS | |
