Recently I tried to take a swaploit approach and had 2 memory sticks.
One ms contained psp/game/update/eboot.pbp, which was a 2.0 eboot with changed values to 3.00
the other had a normal 2.0 eboot in it.
So I used the swaploit technique to start the update(downgrade), then switched the memsticks. Didn't work, it was a nice attempt though, so thats what im basing my new exploits off of. Next I will try a variation of kxploit.

This has been tried numerous times ever since the 1.51 update. And it did not work, there has even been a tool made (I believe by Team Xecuter) that makes the PSP not know that the memory stick is beening switched, and it still didn't work.

I've been looking for a 2.5 downgrade for ever and I can't find one. The 2.5 seems to be a big blockade for the hackers but I can see that we are moving forward. If there is a way to play Iso files on a 2.5 with or without a downgrade please send me a mail. I don't know what to look for anymore.
