A bit random...
Real sorry if this is old. I just switched on my PSP and just before the game booted, I ejected the UMD. It then said my firmware was corrupt, and to press circle to repair. I did, and can carry on using it. All my connections are gone, along with custom bg. I'm still on 2.01 tho!

yeah that happened to me a while ago, i was like... sweet! but then i checked my firmware and it was still the same.. d'oh!

Hahah, that happened to me too. My first thought was OMG it writes to the flash. But then I was kinda worried that it'd phantomly upgraded to 2.6
