I have been working very hard at this all night long. last nights meeting of the hackers did not go that well. I had 1 break though were it lauched the 1.5 dowgrade

and it says "please plug in ac adapter" then it final relizes its V2.5

and it says no need to upgrade. And of course i was like S*&T!

I was screwing around with all these EBOOT.PBP and using a PBP unpacker i dont remeberd what i used but,does any1 else have ideas?

I see you have already learn things 3l3m3nt. I'm pissed coze of my time zone and the fact that the meeting was to late for me. Butter has scheduled another one @ 12 pm tomorrow (monday), I'll be probably there for this one (less I hope

Don't bother wasting time messing around with the update EBOOT.PBP, it's all been tried before, it's easy to get past the first version check, but the second check is in the encrypted code!

Does the ATRAC 3 decoder have an exploitable buffer overflow bug? I am skeptical, but if anyone has proof... Anyway, like many other had already said, getting the PSP to crash doesn't mean you have found an exploitable bug.

I have tried something similar last night, but with 2.00 update, here is are the steps...

1. Download "1132801766_7_FT0_ieua_exploit.zip" found on psphacks.net
http://www.psphacks.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10268

2. Copy the EBOOT.PBP to one memory stick.

3. Copy 2.00 update EBOOT.PBP to another memory stick.

4. Start the IEUA exploit.

5. Swap to the memory stick with 2.00 update.

6. When it loads it waits for you to [Start].

7. Version check kicks in, and you cannot "downgrade".

That's it.
