Cool need a coder, new idea. and no kernel access, needed.

We need a coder for this idea,

If we were to initiate an update say to 2.5 fw from 2.01. hang a tsr program in memory via gta exploit, to monitor for a specific time.

In the 2.5 update get to where we sit for ac adapter to be plugged in.
Firmware checks should have been done by this point, and all gigit sony updates of course!.

The Tsr program could swap the file for say a 1.5 firmware (located somewhere else on the stick), and bang she downgrades.

Going on previous topics I think it may be a winner.

your thoughts.

The intercepting idea is all too good, but who knows what goes on after the scenes. yes, it might be possible to intercept and load the 1.5.. if that is possible. what would happen after.??

maybe you would get that 'sony' contact support screen and then its brick time....

I dont think this is going to work as there is more that one checksum that checks if the eboot is ok but should be tried none the less.

no different to the usb hack. which seemed to work. just a bit tricky to implement. I can code this on a pc but new to psp's and mips.

But a time tested coder......

Wow, actually something different from all those "hm i know i might be stupid but i think i write this stupid stuff in my topic although i know its stupid".

This fails as your "something" which you started using GTA is closed after you quit GTA to go into the PSP vshell (PSP Main Menu). This happens because the PSP reboots. Each transition btw. "reboots" the PSP, like going from Menu (starting game) into a game and back.

I was just thinking but this may be possible if fanjita is able to get the 'home' button on the psp to exit to te manu without crashing the psp. This all depends if the code can continue running after it has been closed to main menu
