| | | Any attempt at downgrading 2.01? I know there's a lot of effort put into exploiting 2.50 but has anyone looked into getting 2.01 hacked first? Most of the new PSPs ship with 2.01, therefore, wouldn't it be a good first step to get 2.01 cracked, so more people can enjoy homebrew? |

| | | | CheatDevice v0.1 for LCS Have you people seen this on pspupdates? http://pspupdates.qj.net/2005/11/che...-infinite.html
Look like someone had managed to run custom code from a saved game for 2.00, and he stated that this could be made to work on 2.01/2.50. Can we not utilise this "exploit" to create a downgrader or loader? |

| | Member | | | | | Yea, I agree I think It'd be harder to crack the v2.01 because of the added security. I'm not sure if they have cracked v2.5 yet because I still have a v1.5, but I know they have cracked v2.0 and this can now execute homebrew applications with fanjita's eboot loader. But I suggest if you already have a version 2.01 just update to version 2.5 to get the new features. |

| | | | Hacking 2.01 Thanks for the replies so far, I was thinking that the only thing Sony did to 2.01 was patch libTIFF, and hopefully, they didn't have or spent time patching any other gaping hole they knew about. IMHO, 2.50 would be harder to crack as they have more time to review stuff.
The CheatDevice for GTA LCS is interesting because the author managed to get what seemed to be custom code running from a saved game, and that works on 2.00, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get working on 2.01?
Anyway, just some of my thoughts. | |
