Using Web Browser

I have a psp with v 2.5 loaded. I would like to use the web browser. I do not own a wireless connection, but when I search in the infastructure mode on my school campus it finds a connection with 35% strength. Is there any way I can use this to connect. When I try to connect it just says unable to locate IP address? Thanks

35% is a really low connection, so odds are it wouldn't be fast at all, and it wouldn't be worth it to browse the internet with this. At any rate, you'll have to setup a connection in wireless settings, and odds are you should leave everything to automatic like IP and DNS and stuff. Also the signal might be secure, even if the psp detects it, it doesn't mean you will be able to connect.

So If there is a protection then I will not be able to use it. Is this what you mean?

If they've used a key or something like WEP then without knowing that you won't be able to use it. Also they may have you login to use the connection, not sure what school you're at, but at my school they have open wireless, but you have to have a valid username and pass to get anywhere on the web.

It proberly has security on it and u cant get on there system without knowing right security and password but some do not have security just look around and u should find something. If you have a wireless connection in your home (if u get one) you can only go so far b4 loosing signal and u have babyback onto someone's system. Most wireless connections only go so far depending on the signal. Mine is in bacement and only 55% upstair's and like 1% outside the front door and i do pick up someones signal around my home and outside of my home (not mine) that i can't use.
Anyway hope that helped.

OK so i think I understand now. Thanks for your patients. This will be the last question. So if I were to go into a starbucks which is a wireless hotspot I should be able to connect no problem by just searching under the infastructure mode?

I haven't tried starbucks yet, but ya you should just be able to go in scan and connect as long as you have a default connection set up.
