Not that 2.60 is out can't the version code be found from that and inserted into an eboot for 1.50. The PSP will let us downgrade as it thinks it is an upgrade and when we downgrade to 1.50 it updates the version to 2.6 and the PSP thinks we have 2.6 installed, so lets new games work??? Can that work?
Many Thanks, you do execlent work guys
Luke

| | Junior Member | | | | Can't we still use it? Can't we still use it? It is installed as an update? So all we need to do is to get the up/downgrader code for 1.5 and pretent that it is a 2.60 update, we get the encryption for the version from the 2.6? Or is there something that I am missing?

| | | | It can't be done, you can't just copy verification codes...you need Sony to encrypt it or you need to steal the encryption key from Sony. |

| | Junior Member | | | | I see Maybe it would be best to try to work out the encryption key as that would solve future releases as well. Providing they don't change it which I guess they can't as the PSP wouldn't be able to unencrypt it. If we know the encrypted and decrypted version theye must be some software that can work out how to get from decrypted to encrypted and then do the same with an older release and if it works for that then it is right, right? Brute force decryption to encryption maybe?

You can't brute force the key...at least not in YOUR lifetime.
Possibly in your lifetime...but when you're 60 years old, think you'll care anymore about a circa-2005 PSP? Nope. You won't. You'll care more about your kids not putting you in an old-folks home. |

| | Junior Member | | | | I see. I didn't understand that it would take that long, I thought maybe around 3-4 weeks on full wack all the time.
Luke
P.S: I am willing to donate a P4 256MB of RAM clean XP install to it for as long as it takes if someone can give me a program or decieds to do it |

| | | Maybe if you build a quantum computer Then I reckon 3-4 weeks would be a more realistic figure. (or possibly 3-4 seconds) |
