Kernal Mode is just a mode in the PSP that uses basically the full potential of the PSP. Think of it as a PC, sort of

. You see, there could be 2 types of accounts on the PC (Three on the PSP). You're are either the Administrator or a guest. Think of it that way. Administrators can basically do what they want, when they want to, depending on the system. That is basically Kernal Mode, basically no restrictions.

Guest Mode, would be User Mode in the PSP. You can't really run much because of the security on the PSP. User Mode is restricted.
There are three Modes on the PSP.
Kernal, VSH, and User Mode.
Kernal is basically like Administrator like I posted above. Basically no restrictions and you can use it to it's full potential.
VSH Mode, is User Mode, with partial Kernal. Not full Kernal, but enough to get a downgrader out of it

. VSH Mode is good in my opinion.
User Mode, is very restricted and can't run much because of the security. Like I posted above it's like being a Guest logged on into someones computer. You can't install certain programs, or do certain things.
That's the simplest I can get it, but as you can see Kernal is the best. With that we could use the full potential of the PSP for homebrew/ISO's to run. VSH Mode is what I kind of want though. That would block ISO's (Since I hate pirates

) And it allows us to run Homebrew with partial Kernal to beef up some Homebrew.
Hope that helps a bit.
