Ok, guys, I fear that the PSP 2.01/2.5/2.6 Downgrader MAY not be possbile, while i have explained it before, the psp 2.0X, 2.XX (except 2.00) uses a different file system and a different encryption system, THE BEST WAY TO RUN HOMEBREW IS PEOPLE MAKING EBOOT LOADERS NOT DOWNGRADERS! I heard a message on psp3d forums (here lolz) to extract 2.0 data.psr or something and come bine with something.datapsr from a 2.6 firmware, which results in a brick because the encryption system won't work! Some one will have to break in to the encryption system like breaking a password in RAR or ZIP, or a WEP connection from a Wireless router, But I DO BELIEVE THAT
PSP3d WILL SOMEHOW SAVE PEOPLE FROM 2.0x, 2.XX psps!! AND ADMIN!!! I HAVE FAITH IN YOU!!! <and i hope you get your new psp fast and god speed, and good luck>

You can not break the encryption, the only practical way of 'breaking' that stage of the security is to steal the encryption key from Sony.

It may eventually be possible to flash the PSP firmware using seperate hardware (or, if a working exploit is found, it could be done through software) but that appears to be a very difficult thing to do without bricking the PSP and I 'think' it's relativly new. (tho the idea for it has obviously been around a long time)

There are a number of unexplored routes towards running code on the PSP, in my opinion a working exploit is only a matter of time. (could be a very long time mind you)

you need a UMD encryption key (not the file) the decrypted key, and we need a way to figure this code out and encrypt it our way and build a game with OUR encryption and signature on it! ITS NOT EASY!!!! WHEN YOU THINK YOU WOULD SAY, such as "Oh!! get a UMD Decrypter!" but u need homebrew to run for that... or we need to decrypt USB.prx file and use it directly to connect to PSP via usb without running the firmware (which is the best way) Easy drag and drop firmware! thats only only way FOR NOW!

i didnt upgrade and very glad i didnt as the cheat device on gta is only working on 2.0 , 2.1 , and 2.5
i knew i mite as well wait if im hopin for a downgrader
2.6 will b even longer

man i love the 2.6, podcasts are so awsome to listen too...

i really dont care for homebrew anymore, if i did i owulda kept my 2.5 and waited...

but im all up for trying to help in cracking it... although i wouldnt be able to use it i dont care...

why a downgrader? why not just find new exploits on 2.5 .6?? is it that much harder to crack??
