Example: i have a 1.5 fw psp, i want to make it think that it is a version 2.0 so that i can run umd's |

The only reason I use one for is security: If I run a FW upgrade by mistake it will claim that I have a more recent version and stop! I use SXT Version Changer that sets my PSP to think it is 7.50
