Points: 214.19 Donate | | Launching an upgrage differently... hey well i was bored so i decided to try and launch a 2.6 fw upgrade via the GTA loader, to see if it would work (dont worry i wouldn't really update), and it didn't.
What happened was that the EBOOT loader menu re-shows, and the first app is selected. BUT, the directional buttons do not work, and you cannot select an alternative EBOOT. the L and R directional buttons do not work, So you cannot change the CPU speed. However, if you press X, the selected EBOOT starts.
(I Believe the "Stabiliser" from "Hacker3.0's downgrade beta" had the same effect.)
So, i decided to see if it would run an un-encrypted update EBOOT. So i took the 2.6 update, unpacked it using PBP unpacker, and re-packed it. (this kills off the encryption). I tried to run it, but, again, i get the same effect.
Anyone think they know why? |
