I think it is mostly a safe way to downgrade using the MPH downgrader, I no its safer then the sxt one, as theres completely deletes the index.dat file, Mph's just over rights it.

I havent heard many people bricking there psp using it anyways.

ive used the mph one about 2-3 times already and its worked well every time.

but it would be nice to have a single app that downgrades and upgrades while letting you backup stuff like your user and network settings.

We are talking about a hacking operation on a handheld system here. That's not a PC! Is it as simple as it could be! And yes! There is a possibility of bricking your PSP cause an exploit like the TIFF one cannot provide the stability that an original firmware upgrade can do! SONY provides the encryption key and has normal flash0 access on it! Using exploits to gain this access is always dangerous. So don't overdo it! If something goes wrong your PSP is toast!

................ its all here bro. its safe to do. The only thing that changes is the software. The tiff is no hardware. There is always a chanche of bricking but that is verry verry verry verry small.

Yaeh, I know is like 99,99999% safe and I think it is too but I have heard people bricking their PSPs by it so thats why I don't encourage its every day use. Use it, downgrade, forget it! I mean there are some guys out there that have GTA and use this think 3 times a day to down-upgrade! I have done it 3 times on 3 diffrent PSPs and nothing went wrong but I was a lot of anxius every time I did it until it was succesfully done...
