Points: 0.01 Donate | | Good idea Bad idea...... while back ago, i came across a custom v1.5 PSP firmware by game shark. Now, the idea of downgrading a the v2.01/v2.5 PSP is simple. Build / edit the current v2.6 firmware so that it is based on a v2.0 firmware which allows the "overflow.tif" exploit and then you could downgrade the PSP. Well that means only v2.01 / v2.5 PSP user could take advantage of this method if it actually works.
In more details now, to give you more ideas and a bigger picture, using the sony signture etc present on the v2.6 firmware, trick the PSP into thinking its a "offical" sony PSP v2.6 firmware upgrade, however, because this is a custom "v2.6" firmware, it actually contains the sony signture just so that it could by-pass the security check and update to the "v2.0" codes (which you could then use the MPH downgrade method etc). So in the end, the PSP would have been updated to a "v2.6" firmware, but you could downgrade the PSP to run homebrew game
Well this is my idea, if any hacker/coder could take advantage of this, it would be great.
Let me know what you think
got this from another forum dont flame me
