Im "working" on it as best I can.

I talked to fanjita and he said that if the h.bin could be executed that "in theory" the MPH Downgrader should work on 2.01

Right now Im just running through a very lengthy Trial-and-Error process.

Who knows if I'll ever even turn any results, but I have to at least try.

So far Ive tried and eliminated all of these as ways to get code to run:

.tif - duh
.png
.jpg
.bmp
.at3 - nothing really to speak of here, but I placed some code within a jpg and saved that as the album art. I got it to successfully freeze about every 1 in 10 times I play it. Dont know if anything will come of it though.
.mp3 - shows promise, with altered code I get anywhere from garbled song(thats w/very little code alteration) to corrupt data. I need to find a happy medium. If I alter too much code within the mp3 itself it just comes up corrupt, but I have gotten the PSP to recognize the fake mp3 as audio and start to play it. When I hit play though it sits there for about 5-6 seconds and then kicks me back out and labels it corrupt. Hmmmmm?
Browser - Nothing here as far as I can tell. One thing though. Maybe someone can tell me why this happens. I put the h.bin and index.dat in the root of my memstick and the 1.5fw in the UPDATE folder. Now if I use the browser and put in "file:/h.bin" it asks the standard "would you like to save random file blahblah", but if I put in "ms0:/h.bin" my psp automatically starts trying to open a connection. Although since I dont have wifi on my pc and live about 30 miles from civilization I cant see what its trying to connect to. If anyone could tell me why this is happening I would be very grateful.

Thanks

People, I have a stupid idea. Since Sony know we are using files named h.bin and overflow.tif , maybe they stopped all attempts at using files with those name, but is anyone trying the same thing with the same file, just naming it a.bin or exploit.bin?

You will never manage to create an exploit just by taking some bytes from someone else's exploit and sticking them in random files.

It's just not how it works.

You need to do some research into basic cracking techniques, and then try to do something based on a sound theoretical basis.

The way you're all doing it at the moment, you'd never even find the TIFF exploit on v2.0.

....Sorry

Could you help point us in the right direction

2 minds are better than 1, or in this case more likely, 1.5 minds are better than 1

Thanks

Man that sounds very convincing.. You might've gone to all that effort to import a fancy white PSP only to be slapped in the face when you saw it was a 2.01, well that's your problem. Why don't you spend that $50 on a game and stop acting like a baby, because guess what, no one gives a damn about 2.01.

Serpentor this has nothing to do with games im not 12 if i wanted to play games i would buy the games, playing games isnt the reason i got the psp in the first place it was for homebrew
and what are u talkin about im acting like a baby would a baby offer some one else money to do something they where doing for free in the first place what im doing is called a incentive its what us grown ups do when we want some thing done that we are unable to do ourself maybe once u stop suckin on your mother tit u might learn this

Just saying the guy's coming off pretty desperate. He should've known the white psp he was going to get would be 2.01, it's his own fault. 3 pages is nothing compared to the millions who had 1.51-2.0 prior to the 2.0 downgrader, there is only a fraction of interest. The true focus continues to be on emulating 2.0 on 1.5. I'm willing to bet I'll be playing GTA on 1.5 long before 2.01+ ever sees a working downgrader.
