i knew the psp was going to be 2.01 or above and i got it any way coz i dont care about playing games letalone games off memory stick i just want to downgrade so i can use homebrew and i dont no what you are talkin about when u try to compare the 3 pages from this thread to the thosands of other threads about 2.0< that doesnt mean ne thing i could write gta on 1.5 with no other infomation and u little kiddies would fill up 80 pages with just shit without knowing a thing about it
another thing why are u even replying to this threw u obviously dont have a 2.01 and obviously aint a dev coz u cant even read correctly
so can u please stop posting shit in this thread i just want infomation that is relevant to 2.01 i dont want pages of dumb posts

Read the stuff you find. Then you'll at least be making a start. Keep googling the stuff in there that you don't understand.

Read some sourcecode from past exploits (google 'psp tiff exploit source').

And so on.

once again this thread is regarding fw 2.01 there are alot of ppl who have 2.01 and i no alot of ppl have 2.5 and above but there are alot of ppl who have 2.01 still who dont want to upgrade incase some one cracks 2.01
so please dont post in here unless u have something to say about 2.01 if u want to talk about 2.5 or above go find a thread about it

Right now Im just running through a very lengthy Trial-and-Error process.

So far Ive tried and eliminated all of these as ways to get code to run:

.at3 - nothing really to speak of here, but I placed some code within a jpg and saved that as the album art. I got it to successfully freeze about every 1 in 10 times I play it. Dont know if anything will come of it though.
.mp3 - shows promise, with altered code I get anywhere from garbled song(thats w/very little code alteration) to corrupt data. I need to find a happy medium. If I alter too much code within the mp3 itself it just comes up corrupt, but I have gotten the PSP to recognize the fake mp3 as audio and start to play it. When I hit play though it sits there for about 5-6 seconds and then kicks me back out and labels it corrupt. Hmmmmm?
Browser - Nothing here as far as I can tell. One thing though. Maybe someone can tell me why this happens. I put the h.bin and index.dat in the root of my memstick and the 1.5fw in the UPDATE folder. Now if I use the browser and put in "file:/h.bin" it asks the standard "would you like to save random file blahblah", but if I put in "ms0:/h.bin" my psp automatically starts trying to open a connection. Although since I dont have wifi on my pc and live about 30 miles from civilization I cant see what its trying to connect to. If anyone could tell me why this is happening I would be very grateful.

hey i ve been thinking if you can send a "virus" thour the rss than in audio then you could exiqute it and have the "Virus" destroy the 2.01 and 2.50 and 2.6 file and replace them with the 2.0 and 1.50 flie just a thought in theory it should work

2.01 doesnt support rss feeds.....

Who would want a 2.01 psp?????? The bug fix is the same as 2.5 and 2.6 so just upgrade.
