This could become a reality if someone could get the share holders and executives of sony to realize how much profitable it would be to support the homebrew dev community. When i think of how homebrew apps on my psp, it doesnt seem very much different than home brew apps on my pc. If sony could push the psp as being a portable personal computer like a laptop with limitless software and apps to download whether commercial or shareware who knows how much they could capitalize on it. You dont see Microsoft loosing profit by allowing shareware, freeware, and any for of software built for the windows operating system.

Think of how much Microsoft would phail if they completly restricted up there OS from running any type of unlicenced applications and only allowing microsoft licenced commercial software to be ran on the Windows Operrating system. Yes people do have the capabilities to develop software hacks and pirate software but M$ didnt restrict software development to only the big corperations. Anyone with a C++ or any type of code compilier can compile there code to work for Windows.

If Sony wants more success to the PSP, they will have to push user created development on the PSP regaurdless of licences such as in previous consoles and make it more like a personal computer. The trick is to get the share holders and executives to see it this way.

The main stream is very big and wide and holds lots of profit but its lead into a big fall. Everyone is looking for innovation in the next generation but none has found it. All we seen so far is just 50% improvement in the smoothness of graphics and nuthing more. Pushing the Sony PSP as an actual personal handheld computer OS with wireless online gamming capabilities may really bring true innovation.

yeah i know alot of people who would buy a psp brand new knowing they could use it kind of like a laptop to run homebrew apps. i dont agree with pirating games but i just want to be able to run emulators with out gta or anything like that. if i could downgrade 2.01 i would just to play emulators not to play pirated games.

people r always gonna find hacks and exploits but if they just let us do homebrew there b less people trying to find ways to downgrade and less people working on pirating hacks because we would be happy with the homebrew
