Have lurked around here since before Christmas hoping for D/Grdr for 2.01 and with none is sight i got a 1.52 off of E-Bay. The D/Grdr loaders etc is all in place and functioning but so far unable to get round Region code being 3 and not 2 for the UK.

My question is that when i first had unit as a FW 1.52 i was able to view and play the demo disc. After i upgraded then downgraded this is no longer possible ? I thought that FW alterations had NO effect on the region coding of a psp as these were set on hardware on board ?

Any ideas how to get round or do i have to upgrade to fw1.52 to view movie umd's ???

Any help or progs to try much appreciated

im shooting from the hip here , as i only had my 1.5 fpr a day or so..

but i beleive that a proggie like fastloader / devhook let me run my region disks no problem, and yes you are right, downgrading should not have messed with the region settings ??

i think its more that 1.5 does not have the correct codec support...

but like i said shooting from the hip...

I am loathe to sell off the UK 2.01 if no UMD region get round for movies as already Asda are selling them for £6.64.

Is this codec issue and if so can these not be overcome ??

The UMD emulator has regionfree setting but you have to exit emulation to access the actual UMD in slot as not an iso loading, no point in ripping iso to M/S as takes up as much if not more space than a dvd > mpeg4 does and DVD cheaper to buy/rent/record.

Ideas ??

Has anyone examined this action with a view to a backdoor into post 2.0 F/w ??
