Lightbulb there's one more hope left in finding an exploit in 2.01+ firmwares...

did anyone try the location free player for an exploit?

i heard sometime ago that some dude stated about a possible glitch...regarding the location free player

I don't think it has been fully explored yet. No one really knows how it works because the base station is too expensive.

Even if there was an exploit you'd have to buy the base station to use the explot.... So you coud just buy a 1.5 instead....

Not necessarily. It could be like the DS exploit where a fake signal is sent out through a PC wireless network card. If we knew exactly how the base station worked we might be able to write some custom drivers for a wifi card to mimic the location free station.

There might be an exploit but no-one wants to buy the location free player to find out.

You can download software here that allows you to pick up a location free signal on a PC. Could this be used to find out what is being sent?
