| | | | I have 3 USB cables all [III], Motorola V3 cable fits snuggest and has the largest length variation(almost 1mm lengths), this cord recognises the PSP a long time before the PC connects, the chord with the least length variation recognises the PC at almost exactly the same time.
When messing around with a hacked USB cord, I noticed that you only get the message "Connect a USB cable" when the Red(+5v) wire is disconnected.
If you plug in your PSP with all wires connected it is then Possible to disconnect the Black(ground) wire without freaking out your PSP or PC.
Unfortunately the PSP still recognises that it is connected to the computer. If you then touch the split ground wire from the PC to the still connectd Red wire, I produce a power surge message on my computer, this kind of screwed around one of my USB ports for a bit, but if you touch the split ground wire from the PSP to the connected red wire the PSP gives the message "Connect a USB cable", but this still disconnects the PSP from the PC.
However, I think it is a process similar to this to get the desired effect, first connect all connections, then create a short, with the black(ground) and Red(+5v), and end up with a disconnectd ground.
This means your PC thinks it is still connected DUE to the established connection before breaking the ground, and you can still pass info through the Red wire. Also by touching the ground to the +5v, the PSP is tricked into thinking it has been disconnected.
I'm trying all of this on 1.5 PSP, so different results may happen with different FW's. |
