We only focus on downgrading through software but never hardware.
Mersonally i would pay liek 50 bucks to buy some sort of hardware to downgrade.
stupid BS i hate people who want attention and then bring everyone down |

| | | The USB fiasco was never meant to be a downgrader...just a way for people to go from there to make a downgrader. I attempted a downgrader, here was the ACCURATE results (now that the thread is closed I can't edit my post for what REALLY happened): Quote:
Before anything, I'd like to point out this...
I know nothing about the power of this - if it's useless, then so be it, if it isn't then I'd like to see someone who knows what they're doing pick up the ball and take it somewhere (hopefully far away from bricking a PSP when you try to do it).
FINAL EDIT: After seeing a lot of the posts here I've come to realize a few things. A complete downgrade, with this exploit as of now, is impossible. All we've figured out is that we can write/read the memory card even without it being in USB mode. However, this doesn't mean this is totally useless - if people out there that know what they're doing catch wind of this, hopefully we can come away from this realizing it's a step in the process of downgrading.
For my story, for exactly what happened:
I was messing around with doing this and got it to stay on my computer and say 'Connect a USB cable'.
I exited out of the USB menu, ran to memory card, selected the 2.6 update and ran it. I got to the EULA from here, hit accept as far as I could go without actually beginning the update. I popped in the new eboot, the 1.5 update, overwriting the old eboot, the 2.6 update. From here, the update continued, asking for the AC adapter, which I plugged in. From there, the update began, taking about 45 seconds to actually start updating. It went 1%, 10%, stalled for 2 minutes, 60%, 61%, 72%, 99%, and same fashion as the 2.0 downgrader, stated a fail, but this time instead of saying contact Sony, it just hung....memory card reading like crazy, for 5 minutes at a light blue screen then kicked me back to the main menu, still with 2.5 firmware.
Tried again, same result however this time, the version number I had was 1.5 and my PSP would freeze if I moved the menu cursor over to the right far enough to expose the Internet Browser menu (with the location free and browser itself). From here, I just played it cool realizing it's wrecked, and eventually just updated to 2.6, where all was fine in the update.
SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION: Sony has blocked the 1.5 downgrade from running.
| And that's that. There is no 'USB 2.5 downgrader' and never was. |

| | | | There would also be no way that you could "switch" the 2.6 eboot with the 1.5 during the update process (or before the EULA) because if you tried to move, or overwrite the 2.6 eboot, it would not let you because your computer would say that the file is in use and can not be moved. |

| | | | 1) copy the firmware 2.6 on a memory stick
2) copy the firmware 2.0 on a ANOTHER memory stick
3) put the memory fw 2.6 and update
4) At the Eula disclaimer remove the memory stick fw2.6
5)put the other memory and try to continue the downgrade
6) after reboot the psp and check if the PSP FW is on 2.0 or 2.6
7) If the FW is 2.0 ... downgrade it with the downgrader
it's that i will test tomorow
what do you think ? | |
