found this downgrader 2.5 will this work

2.5 Downgrade (Need Testers)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If anyone is willing to test out an exploit for a 2.5 downgrade (I've gotten it to work pretty well), PM me for more details. Just need some testers here...

Before anything, I'd like to point out this...

I know nothing about the power of this - if it's useless, then so be it, if it isn't then I'd like to see someone who knows what they're doing pick up the ball and take it somewhere (hopefully far away from bricking a PSP when you try to do it).

UPDATE TIME (pun intended ):

THERE IS A VIDEO! ~ http://www.kay1nc.com/1sttry.3gp ~

What we know:
USB can be connected to the PC and the PSP although the PSP says it's not
The 2.6 update starts while the USB is plugged in (still holding a connection to the computer)
USB wires are not to be messed with :P
It's a PSP bug that triggers the USB trick, not the USB cable
Doesn't work with 2.0 or 1.5 (thanks stupid)

What we do not know:
Does the update continue after swapping the eboots out?
Is this possible with 2.01/1.52/1.51?
Does the computer loose connection with the PSP after being 'tricked' after a while?
Does it actually work?

THE METHOD (for those who don't like to read):

Quote:
Step 1 - Required is 2.5 firmware...anything lower/higher...don't know, haven't tried.

Step 2 - Go into USB mode, wiggle the USB cable loose a bit and wiggle the cable in and out until it says 'Connect a USB Cable', although it's connected and on your computer the PSP Drive is present. Kind of a trick to the firmware, I don't know much about it...

Step 3 - Go into and load the 2.6 Update, however, since the PSP is connected to the PC still, simply load the upgrade into the first EULA screen, then proceed, make sure no AC cable is connected...when it prompts you to connect the AC Cable, first swap out (remember the PSP is connected to the PC via USB mode, you 'tricked it') the 2.6 eboot with the 1.5. Seems dumb and impossible, but it works and continues the update, downgrading to 1.5...however, I upgraded back to 2.5...tried it again, and bricked the PSP.

The key is to swap out the eboot when you're prompted to plug in the AC adapter as opposed to during the EULA, since the PSP will execute the file after the EULA, whereas, if you swap AFTER the EULA, it'll execute without processing...or something. I don't know much information, other than, if you can get the USB part down and pretty much follow step for step, it worked for me (once).

No reason to read anything further than this unless you want to partake in the discussions
