you can load firmware 2.00 and 2.5 on 1.5 using the firmware launcher but if i change the index.dat file to say i have firmware 3.00 but still using the flash0 and flash1 files on the firmware dump that mph's firmware launcher use will it say firmware 3.00 or do i have to change more than just the index.dat (im not sure like i said im a n00b programmer) well n e ways plz either post your reply or pm me.
if this works will i be able to run games like fight night or is there other things in firmware 2.6 thats not in 2.00 or 2.5 (like video supports) |

also, there's software called 'stx version changer' and what not, which changes the number to a higher number.
still doesnt work, its the actual prx files etc which ar ethe issue, not the version number

Points: 35.36 Donate | | | yes i know that firmware launcher can't run umds but mph's gameloader can
and since its the prx files, do the 2.6 fiels have other newer things that sony added since the 2.5 (like new video support or something)
like pspset did for firmware 2.00 but im trying to make it work for 1.5 by putting the prx files etc on firmware 1.5 then doing what pspset did (by making the game think your psp is 3.00 and having 2.00 (or in this case 2.5 files) flash files) |

Points: 1.24 Donate | | | you would need to decompile a 2.6 update file, which currently im fairly sure isn't possible.
then you would need to link them up so any application that requested those prx files/system files etc pointed to the flash for 2.6, And yeah, a minor thing u'd prolly need to change ur psp firmware # to 2.6
but currently due to not being able to decompile/decrypt 2.6 i dont think its possible yet....... but im unsure.

Points: 35.36 Donate | | | yes you are correct some of the files on firmeware are encrypted and can't be copied and thats going to be a problem in my case in trying to do this but i've heard some rumers about getting "some" of the files but im not sure which ones i can get and if they are the important ones i need (i heard you can dump some of them using file assistant) |

and aod, read what he's saying, he's not saying he has 3.0, he just wants to make his psp think its 3.0 so he can run higher firmare version games.
