Lets pretend a little.
Say you're a programmer with a little skills. Lets say you can actually load and display images in a program.
When your program (or game) has a multitude of files, you don't necessarily want the user to misplace a folder. A user could think you made a mistake by calling your folder "imgaes" (instead of "images", if you didn't get that) and decides to rename it to its "correct name". Well, he just made sure your programs will no longer work. If you have all your files in an ISO (which is -basically- a read-only archive, they cannot play around with the files, simply run them. The point is that with a single ISO, REAL PROGRAMS have only 1 file (an ISO) instead of having 537 files in 15 folders with an instruction manual on how to unrar the files on which kernel.
Think about that. Just because you like to rip games, does not mean that other people don't like to create them and have a managed way of things.
